We are pleased to announce that you can now ...

Derby Adoption Centre is the largest purpose built cat centre in this area and was opened in 1998, with 100 pens to house approximately 150 cats and kittens. Since then we have had the much needed addition of our outdoor area and more recently an annex with 15 extra pens. We can now potentially have in residence up to 240 cats and kittens at any one time, unfortunately there are usually just as many waiting to come into us to find new homes.

NEW CAMPAIGN - Assisted Neutering

Owners living in the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire postcodes can have their cat neutered for only £10 - (this covers routine neutering and any non-neutering costs would need to be covered by the owner).

If you receive a state benefit, are on a low household income or are a full time student or pensioner, you will qualify for help. This link will take you to the main Cats Protection website.
Visiting the centre

We always offer a warm welcome to anyone who would like to visit the centre, we're open every day 11am until 3pm, and are always on hand for advice on choosing a cat or any kind of cat related enquiries. There is no need to make an appointment and Lucy, our meet and greet cat, will be happy to show you around when you arrive!

Adopting a Cat

You will need to visit and meet your chosen cat before you can adopt them, but to help you choose the majority of cats that are ready for new homes are available to view on this site. Once you have chosen your cat, they will be reserved for you immediately and during his next visit the vet will give them a final check over before you take them home.

We would usually expect a cat to be home with you within a week as this will then allow us to use the free pen for another cat needing a home, we also know how keen you will be to get the new cat home.
